You wanna play, so I wore dress up clothes...

The rotarians in our town just built a playground in a matter of five days. Scouten contributed by drinking milk. You read both of those sentences correctly.

The Rotarians started the fundraising for the project a year ago, went to the schools and asked kids for their input and even had the project all designed, then got an amazing amount of volunteer labor rounded up and built the playground. In less than five days. The organizational skills involved blow my mind!

During the build, they called the radio station looking for gallon milk jugs for their miscellaneous parts and pieces. Luckily Sean hadn't taken out the recycling and we had (I hate to admit this) 8 gallon jugs to contribute!

We went to check it out a couple days after it was finished, and the 2 to 5 year old section was PERFECT for Scouten. We didn't have to help her with much, mainly we just watched, she could crawl and slide and work the music equipment all on her own. Yes, the playground has musical instruments for them to play. All in all I think Safari run is a HUGE success!!

And if you think the title of this blog post ruined my New Year's Resolution of all lyrical blog post titles, then you haven't watched enough Sesame Street!
