This one time, at CCMC

First a little background, I grew up in the same church my mother grew up in. It's kind of comforting, and kind of strange to be around people that know everything about you AND your mother.

Today I am walking out of CCMC and I see two people I have known all my life. Here's the conversation. Maybe you will get a kick out of it too.

Me: Hey there, I like that Watermelon Festival Shirt, I have one just like it.
Dorothy: Well Hi Rhys
Me: How are you two doing
Darryl: Well I've been at KU Med.
Me: Yes, I know I'm on the prayer chain (Becca stop snickering) and I have been praying for you.
Darryl looking up at me: You know something, you talk just like your mother.
Me: (laughing) Yes, I have come to the realization lately that I am my mother only 40 years younger.
Darryl: You know I can remember one time when Cindy (his daughter-in-law) was babysitting you and your dad didn't come to pick you up on time. You didn't get upset. You just got out the crayons and started coloring. When he got there, you made HIM wait. You picked up after yourself sooo slowly. Cindy said you better hurry your dad's waiting and he might leave you here. You replied, "He's my daddy, he won't leave me, he loves me."
Me: You know I'm still a daddy's girl, and I still believe that.
