Whew! What a busy girl's night! Scouten and I were BUSY! I have been wanting to try this recipe for banana breadsticks. Since she has one tooth in and another on the way, I decided I should probably get started!
First I baked the bread, it's basically banana nut bread, minus the nuts, of course! Plus I added a little more banana, cause it's for Scouty, and I am not going to skimp! When the bread was out of the oven, I cut a slice for Sean, buttered it up and he thought I had made him a treat! Whoops! The rest of it I cut up into thin slices, then each slice into three...
Then I popped it back into the oven for an hour at 150 (that's what the directions say). It wasn't as dried out as I would have liked it, so I left it in for another 45 minutes, because at that temperature, what is it really going to do?
The first one to comment on my use of parchment paper or the looks of my stove, is more then welcome to come on over and clean both!
While that was baking, Scouten and I had supper. Needless to say, she had peas. And she decided to play in the two teaspoons of leftovers. Yes, two teaspoons of peas, an eight month old, a bowl, a spoon and a high chair look like this...after about two minutes...
She also decided that she want to play "Indian" and used the bowl for a drum...I have tried to tell her that her grandfather believes that only men should sit at the drum, but she still wanted to try...
Yes, there was a bath involved after supper. Sorry that I did not get any "bathing beauty" pics, but I kind of had my hands full of soapy sweet baby! After bath, a walk around the house, some time in the jumpy and two rounds of the duck song, the banana biscuits were cool enough to eat!
Here's the first taste...and...
they are obviously a success! Anything she doesn't like is immediately fed to the dogs, and this pic was taken a good five minutes later!
I am not the only one who was worn out by the night, Scouten fell asleep in her highchair at 8:57 after singing to herself for a good three minutes, not much earlier then usual, but no rocking and no bottle! She was exhausted!!
