Beautiful Things Spotted At The Maple Leaf Festival

Every year on the third week of October, my mom, sister and I go to the Maple Leaf Festival in Baldwin City. I don't know how we really got started - it's just a tradition. Fall is my favorite time of year, and this is just one of the reasons. Other ones include the KC Merchandise Mart the day after Thanksgiving, Buttons and Bows in Manhattan which is the same day as opening day for hunting, and numerous other craft shows my mother and I frequent.

My niece Caitlyn played in the parade. In all the years I have went, I'm almost positive we have never been there early enough to see the parade - so this was a new experience! I had to run (I know I was shocked too that I could run) to get these shots, but I'm glad I did! Of course we yelled at her when she went by, and I'm pretty sure she was rolling her eyes and acting like she had NO IDEA who we were!

I know! If only she had hips and wasn't just a straight little post!
