Save your pencils!

My parents came to town for this crazy auction today. It had quilts AND coins on the auction block, so it was perfect for both of them. When we got there, there was an AMAZING amount of junk, including 14 Indian paintings and a whole trailer full of Indian memorabilia, so I called my father-in-law, who gets excited about NOTHING (even keeled kind of guy) and his reply was, "I'll be right there." Little did we know what we were dealing with!
The cheapest painting went for $585 and the guy that bought them was positive he could make a quick turn-around. And then there was this 0ne...introducing the one-thousand dollar painting!
What is even more mind blowing then that, was the guy that bought it, left it to go buy something else, because it sat alone for a LONG time, and yes, I totally tried to dream up a plan to get it out of there, but of course EVERYone was talking about the THOUSAND dollar painting! That and the fact that first thing in the morning they had sold a box of PENCILS for one-thousand dollars. Of course, that was after they took the John Deere pencils out. Did I mention the Elvis scrapbook of newspaper clippings from his beginning til his death, the rhinestone and gold ELVIS rings, the old leather camera I would totally love, the wool Indian blanket my husband let go for $30, the woman that gave button lessons on the spot, or the olive spoon that I seriously made a scene for (yep, even in front of my husband AND parents)?

I heard Harold Mugler talking about this sale.....so, how much did the Elvis scrapbook go for?

Show us a photo of your olive spoon....or did you end up buying it, or just throwing a fit over it! :)

IDK how much the Elvis scrapbook went for! but a friend called and said the olive spoon went for $17.50. I could find you a pic online, but I didn't end up buying it, cause I refused to go back the next day - I KNOW I am a spoiled brat!
